ACCACCACCACCACCA……

I was dreading these exams. It took me a good year or so just to decide/ make up my mind to even register for taking exams. I was using all possible delaying tactics and finally ended up registering in December 2007 a few days before the closing date. MR has been a driving force in getting me to register. If I were left alone, probably I would not have done it…

Today… Thinking back.. I am almost through most of the course having completed (if I pass) 13 of the 14 exams. I feel quite happy and relieved that by the end of this year.. at least I would have finished giving the exams.

It does feel good...

Strawberry picking…

Sunday, 21st June was my birthday.. and we decided to go strawberry picking… Strawberry picking is an activity we discovered last year and decided to go every year.

There are lots of farms around London, where fruits and vegetables are grown. They allow people to pick their own fruits and vegetables. Its great fun to actually pick strawberries and raspberries straight from the plant, rather than the ones you get in supermarkets. The freshness in the fruit is felt almost immediately as they are more juicy and feel fresh.

It’s a great experience and lots of fun… it’s an excellent family outing as even kids enjoy it. We were a group of 18 with adults and kids… The kids had a blast, they were running around the farms, playing hide and seek, having competition as to who is going to find the biggest strawberry etc.

On the whole, it was a fantastic day out and thankfully the British weather was kind to us. Last year, we were also able to pick sweet corn and French beans. It was the first time ever; I actually ate fresh corn straight from the plant, yes fresh corn, neither grilled nor boiled. It was really tasty. We were all looking forward to have some more this time around; but it was too early in the season for corn and was asked to come back later, end of August or so. So we are definitely going back later this year.

Wardrobes.. part II

My fitted wardrobes are damn cool.. Unlike most wardrobes that have shelves, I choose to have a lot of drawers in mine.. The best part is, I got to choose what I want in it.. I designed it...

Earlier I had wardrobes with lot of shelves in them and normally the stuff that at the back never got used.. the stuff got completely ignored.. and I used to think I don't have clothes.. and kept buying.. (not that I have stopped shopping now)

But this is cool.. I get a complete view of my entire collection by pulling it out... I have clearly sectioned it out with office clothes.. home clothes.. and other random stuff.. its dawned to me.. that I have more jeans than office clothes.. which is not very good.. as I am not allowed to wear jeans to work.. other than Friday..

I have nice little wardrobe dividers to put little bits and pieces like sock's , belts, cosmetics.. etc.. Its really good.. and I am glad I got it done..

Sunshine

It’s a beautiful day today in London. The temperature is about 18-20 degrees with lots of sunshine.. and guess what.. I am stuck in office.. :-)

Absolutely no mood to work whatsoever, but cannot get away with that as I have a few things to finish off..

I used to always wonder why the westerners love the sunshine so much. I get the point now as these countries don’t see the sun for most of the year so when the sun comes out, it’s more like a celebration or a festival. The value of something is understood only where is a lack of it or when it’s lost.

I feel the same today; I feel like heading back home, pick up a nice book, sit in the garden or may be lie on the grass and just enjoy the sunshine.

I wish we could have the sun all round here in England.. the life would be a lot brighter and happier.. :)

Looking forward to...

The Easter weekend… We are planning to go to Lancaster for 2 nights with some friends.. I am sure it will be a lot of fun provided the weather co-operates. I will also have to spend a lot of time after I come back to finish my course exams as I need to complete 3 exams and should have sent them by now.

This is one of the longest bank holidays we have in the UK after Christmas. This is the only weekend where we have both Monday and Friday as holiday. All the other summer and spring holidays have just the Monday as holiday.

I always look forward to the weekends.. just so that I don’t have to wake up early in the morning, I hate waking up early in the morning.. I could stay late at night, the other day we had a girls night out in one of my friends night, and we stayed as late at 3.00 AM .. It was great…

One of our friend has a plan of what we are going to be doing in Lancaster. Its good, as I love surprises and since we have been out to Dubai and other places with this set of friends.. they have a good choice and I am sure they will make a great choice…

I am really looking forward to relax and enjoy.. and sleep a lot. .. if possible
