Life...

Life throws at us soo many things.. how we take it is important... This is something I read in a book... and applies to some of my situations where I held many things in my head for a long time.... and then one fine day... decided to throw them out of my mind.. and live life at its fullest.. I am a more happier person today.. than ever before.. .

A Professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it. He held it up for all to see & asked the students "How much do you think this glass weighs?" '50gms!' ..... '100gms!' .....'125gms' ...

the students answered. "I really don't know unless I weigh it," said the professor, "but, my question is: What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes?" '

Nothing' …..the students said. '
Ok what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour?' the professor asked.

'Your arm would begin to ache' said one of the student "You're right, now what would happen if I held it for a day?"
"Your arm could go numb, you might have severe muscle stress & paralysis & have to go to hospital for sure!" ….. ventured another student & all the students laughed
"Very good. But during all this, did the weight of the glass change?" asked the professor.
'No'…. Was the answer.
"Then what caused the arm ache & the muscle stress?" The students were puzzled.
"What should I do now to come out of pain?" asked professor again. "
Put the glass down!" said one of the students "Exactly!" said the professor.

Life's problems are something like this. Hold it for a few minutes in your head & they seem OK. Think of them for a long time & they begin to ache. Hold it even longer & they begin to paralyze you. You will not be able to do anything. It's important to think of the challenges or problems in your life, But EVEN MORE IMPORTANT is to 'PUT THEM DOWN' at the end of every day before You go to sleep.. That way, you are not stressed, you wake up every day fresh &strong & can handle any issue, any challenge that comes your way!

The year 2008.. has been a wonderful year.... a year of happiness... a year of accomplishment.. ups and downs... to summarise.. it has been a year worth remembering..
Highlights of this year...
  • Registered for ACCA (Accredited Certified Chartered Accountants)
  • One of my dreams fulfilled.. went to Switzerland after 4 long years of being in London. Had a fantastic time in Swiss with MR, my cousin and his wife. We were in Swiss from 19th to 24th March during Easter holidays

  • Self studied for ACCA exams in most of April & May and gave exams in June, It had been almost 6 years since I gave exams. It was scary, but went through it somehow, and actually got through some exams as well.

A eventful, busy and a wonderful year... ! Thanks to my husband MR to bring me to London and being with me through everything.. for putting up with me and my tantrums with utmost patience.. I love you MR...

Christmas Break...

As per my earlier posts.. I have been having a good Christmas break.. a long one...
We did go to London on the Christmas day... and went around a few places.. but we started a little late from home as MR had some work.. so we got there when it was dark.. so could not get pictures...

I have been very productive today.... Had a few hours of work to do(office work).. had a lot of rubbish at home that I had to get rid of which I did today, after which, my little friend(Friend's 6year old daughter) came home and was entertaining her.. Took her to another friends house, watched TV with her.. fed her, bought her chocolates.. had a good time with her.

Then had to catch up with some cooking as I had promised that I would cook dinner for MR and a friend of ours who has recently moved to a new house near our home.
It has been a good day... But just could not find time to read the books that I wanted to read..

The winter is in here.. and everyone is completely equipped with scrafs, gloves, coats, hats etc..
I hate winters, I feel as though I am carrying half the wardrobe on me.. ! Moreover, MR hates wearing scrafs and hats.. he goes out with just one jacket.. and I feel cold looking at him...

Anyways... thats it from my end today..
Cheers!

Its Christmas.....

Hurry.. Its Christmas..... :)
Christmas to me.. means loads of holidays.. Since me and my sister studied in a Roman Catholic school.. we always had Christmas holidays.. not that we would do anything great during those holidays.. Thanks to our school teachers for giving us lots of home work to cover the holidays...

Today is Christmas day.. of 2008 and we are planning to visit the city of London... The roads will be empty today, no trains, no buses on the roads. All the shops are closed, no public transport(tubes, trains, trains). So you can find a few cars and a few people walking around the city... Best time to roam around the city.

We are planning to drive, and MR is really happy about it as there is no restrictions that are usually there like bus lane restrictions, traffic cameras, speed limits, signal cameras.. Baap Re..!
This is the day.. we can stop the car anywhere, take pictures and then move on..We cannot do this on normal days.. in London City..

We plan to go to the beautiful St Paul's cathedral, take a few pictures there and then may be go towards Bukingham palace, Waterloo bridge, tower bridge and then head home.. Looking forward to do some serious clicking :)

Will write more later....:) Bye for now..
Merry Christmas to all...

Updates...

I have been quite bad at writing blogs... I read a lot of blogs of my friends and enjoy it thouroughly. I always feel I should write too, but never do.

So I thougth, I should write something before 2008 ends and continue writing in 2009.
I am really looking forward to the long holiday between Christmas and New year. I finish at work today and have to come back only on 5th January, which is a good 11 day holiday. Really looking forward to it. We dont have any plans yet, but look forward to relax and may be catch up with some home cleaning, ironing and lots of shopping. I am also looking forward to read some of the books that I have bought recently.

My sister V has become a voracious reader and suggests some really great books to read. I read the Kite Runner and loved it to bits. Recently finished with 'The White Tiger' written by Aravind Adiga who also won the Man's Bookers Prize. Its an intresting read. Although, I wondered why he got such an award for it.. !

At the moment... I am reading a book called 'Holy Cow' by Sarah Mcdonald. She is an Australian lady and she writes about her experience in India. Look forward to finish it duing the holidays that I have.
Last weekend, Dec 20-21st, 2008 we(Me, MR, my friend SM and her hubby D) had been to Brussels.. Yay.. ! We have been in London UK for almost 5 years now and had not travelled to Europe at all as we were busy with jobs and other things. And also, had to get Schengan Visa done everytime we wanted to travel. That kind of held us back so we were covering places within UK, travelling to scotland, parts of England etc.

With my friend SM &D coming here.. I though it will be good to tag along.. with them to Brussels.. this way we get to see the place and also get to spend sometime with them.. And it was perfect.. We had a great time together...

I had loads of chocolate as Belgium is famous for it. Its indeed a beautiful city and since the entire city was decorated for Christmas, it made it all the more beautiful. There was this really cool music and dancing lights in the city centre and was lovely. The mood, music and the lights in that place was just amazing. I have never seen something like this before.
Also, we got to try something called the 'Mulled Wine'. I normally hate all sorts of alcohol, but this is something I can say I like. MR has promised me that he will make some at home and we can all have it.

All in all.. it was an eventful weekend.. and had loads of fun.. Thanks to SM for all her hard work for getting together a list of places to visit and things to do... Had a great time.. and look forward to spend more time with you girl.. Cheers to you.. !
